The Rhode Rock is a hardy bird with a black body and gold markings on the neck and breast. Hens vary in the amount of gold marking they have, some are nearly all black (with greens and purples visible in sunlight) and others have a large gold/copper appearance to the breast and neck. The Rhode Rock are excellent free range birds and are more than capable of living in the worst of our welsh weather.
